Despite the worst of what Storm Doris could throw at them on arrival, some 264 delegates turned up for the Digital Transformation Conference 2017, held at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, last week.
Brian, our Business Development Manager, and I spent a long but fulfilling day playing our part. The conference featured a packed programme of short, sharp presentations, as well as a small exhibition space. The theme being Digital Transformation, the recurring topics were of course people, processes and technology.
When not gaining insight from the presentations, delegates spent time in the exhibition area, hammering the reserves of coffee and cupcakes, networking, and showing considerable attention and interest in the dozen or so mainly IT-focused exhibitors.
We enjoyed dozens of purposeful conversations with delegates, all of whom had some degree of buying power and influence. Introductions were made, faces were put to names, and some connections re-established after many years apart.
The event also saw the organisers launch DIGIT, a new collaborative online forum for IT news and views. You can find out more at digit.fyi.
